MindTouch’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Steve Bjorg, has been nominated for an award as part of the 2017 Top Tech Exec Awards program. In its tenth year, the Top Tech Exec Awards honor the most outstanding information technology executives in San Diego.
Steve is a successful tech innovator and entrepreneur who pioneered research at Microsoft in the field of distributed computing, impacting Microsoft’s strategy for everything from robotics to IoT. He was the founder and creator of an open source project, MindTouch Core, that within two years became the fourth most popular in the world out of more than 400,000 ranked open source projects.
Widely respected for his ability to build and manage software engineering teams, Steve is sought after as an advisor, both as a technologist and as an expert in software engineering methodologies for small and large software development teams. He has been active the San Diego community with his support of the San Diego Symphony, The Old Globe Theater, San Diego Zoo, and Voice of San Diego.
Over the past decade, Steve has helped build MindTouch into an industry leader, and one of the fastest growing companies in San Diego. MindTouch enables some of the biggest companies in the world to prosper by understanding their customers as their customers research, buy, and succeed with their products.
San Diego has become Southern California’s hub for tech talent and exciting tech startups. As an added tribute to America’s Finest City, the ceremony will be held on the field at Petco Park, a jewel of downtown that hosts the San Diego Padres and exemplifies San Diego’s culture and community. For the last five years, each mayor has declared the day of the event Top Tech Exec Day, celebrating the awards as the premiere information technology event in San Diego.
