MindTouch is proud to be featured in the Downtown San Diego Partnership’s Downtown Tech & Real Estate Review for December, spotlighting the company’s relocation to San Diego’s Energy Star-labeled and LEED-certified “Vertical Campus” earlier this year.
A leader in the SaaS industry with over 300 customers, MindTouch joined resident organizations like the The Vine community, which along with EvoNexus mentors seed-stage entrepreneurs and startups in a work-sharing space. Origin Code Academy also operates out of 101 W. Broadway, training up-and-coming talent in software development and helping graduates launch their careers. The office space at MindTouch was designed to nurture creativity and collaboration in a fun, open and inclusive environment.
The Downtown San Diego Partnership is a non-profit organization that supports and advocates for the economic and cultural development of San Diego, which it dubs “the innovation community’s next frontier.” This is a commitment shared by MindTouch founders Aaron Fulkerson and Steve Bjorg, who likewise see San Diego as an epicenter for forward-thinking innovators in the technology space and are active in the local community including sourcing local talent.
“Downtown today is becoming a regional innovation hotspot and one of the most essential clusters that has the potential to grow exponentially because of its IT and software profile.” – Downtown San Diego Partnership
The city has seen a boom in its nightlife, dining, employment, shopping, urban residents, convention center and sporting events, and now its tech scene. Just this week UC San Diego announced plans for an “Innovative Cultural and Education Hub,” with programs for the visual and performing arts, software coding, and downtown entrepreneurs among others. Decades of urban planning and modernization have propelled San Diego to its status as a prime location for business vitality and growth, making it poised to become Southern California’s answer to Silicon Valley.
