What cookies are and how MindTouch uses them
Cookies and similar tools are used across MindTouch websites—as well as inside of the MindTouch product—to improve user performance and enhance user experience. This policy explains how MindTouch does this and what these cookies are used for.
What are cookies?
In addition to cookies, MindTouch may use another device called a “web beacon pixel”. This may be included in emails that may be sent to users from time to time.
MindTouch will use the term “cookies” in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way; furthermore, cookies may be used to recognise a device when one of the MindTouch websites is visited, the MindTouch product is used, and when a MindTouch email or newsletter is engaged with.
The primary purpose of the cookie(s) is to help the website and product recognise and remember a user’s device, and to provide certain product functionality while the MindTouch product is being used.
What sort of cookies does MindTouch use?
Generally, our cookies perform up to four different functions:
1. Product cookies
Some cookies are essential for the operation of the MindTouch product. Product cookies allow identification of users and enables the user to sign in. If a subscriber opts to disable these cookies, the user will be logged out of the MindTouch system.
2. Performance and Functionality Cookies
MindTouch utilises other cookies to analyse how the visitors use the MindTouch websites, and to monitor website performance. This allows MindTouch to provide a high-quality experience by customising what is offered, and quickly fixing any issues that arise. For example, MindTouch may use performance cookies to: (1) keep track of which pages are the most popular, (2) which method of linking between pages is most effective, and (3) to determine why some pages are receiving error messages. MindTouch may, in future, also use these cookies to highlight articles or site services that may be of interest to any users based on usage of the website.
3. Behaviorally Targeted Advertising Cookies
